Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is a method that works on facilitating and engaging intrinsic motivation within the person in order to encourage behaviour change. Motivational Interviewing is a goal oriented, client centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by helping people to explore and resolve ambivalence. Motivational Interviewing is the typical treatment approach for people who wish to change behaviours such as smoking, alcohol or drug use and problem gambling.
